Khatibzadeh made the remarks in response to anti-Iran allegations by the US and Britain.
Iran will not hesitate to protect its security and national interests, the spokesman said, adding that any possible adventurism will receive Iran’s immediate and serious response.
He said that baseless accusations against Iran by the British foreign secretary, which were repeated by the US secretary of state in the same way, contained contradictory content, and false and provocative accusations as well.
He considered the accusations deeply regrettable and strongly condemned them.
These coordinated statements contain contradictory phrases so that they first accuse the Islamic Republic of Iran without providing any documents and then talk about its possibility, the spokesman said.
Khatibzadeh said that Iran has the largest water border in the Persian Gulf and is always ready to cooperate with regional countries in providing maritime security in these waters.
He said that Iran considers the presence of extra-regional forces in the waters of Persian Gulf and its littoral countries as detrimental to the stability and security of the region.
It is unfortunate that while these countries have remained silent in support of terrorist attacks and sabotage of Iranian merchant ships in the Red Sea and international waters, in a clear political bias, they are making false accusations against the Islamic Republic of Iran, Khatibzadeh said.
If these countries have a document to prove their false claims, they must provide it, the spokesman added.
